About to leave for Chicago to hang out with my great friend Phil for a few days. I’m planning on visiting Millennium Park when I get there, and then probably just wander around for a few hours until he gets out class. And here we go, the train is taking off, slow steady, bumpy. Goodbye mom, goodbye Toledo, goodbye Emerald Avenue.

Committing half of my weekend to the school play doesn’t make this easier. I’m getting nervous again, wondering what I’m getting myself into. In reality though, there’s no way for me to understand what I’m going to be doing for the next 21 days. It’s going to be an adventure, that much I know for sure. I’m sitting in the Beaners Biggby Coffee by my house in Sylvania thinking about how in a few days I’ll be sitting in a coffee shop just like this, writing a post, and trying not to freak out. The only difference there is the date and the city. I’ll be fine I’m sure.

Well, I’ve been working on getting my Winterim ready since the beginning of summer. I’ve put so much work into all of it and I’m still not quite ready. I’ll be leaving for Chicago at 6 AM on November 2, 6 days. I’m not taking much with me, just as much as I can fit into a big travel backpack that was so graciously loaned to me. Balancing all this preparation I’m doing, plus having one of the lead roles in the play (which we preform on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday: my three last days in town before I leave), as well as our last week of school for a month (full of tests and the like) is getting very stressful. I cannot wait to just finally get on the train and sit and do absolutely nothing. No stress. No worries. Just me, my backpack, and the tracks.
